ALL ABOUT TURQUOISE JEWELRY
By Preston Reuther
Turquoise gemstones have been inside the earth for millions of years waiting for man to find them. And just when that happened we are not so sure. But we do know the American Indians loved turquoise for thousands of years. And in the 16th century traders found this turquoise mined in Iran and sold in Turkey. They too fell in love with the gemstone called Turk stone and then changed to the French language as Turquoise.
Since the kings of Egypt turquoise has not only been used as jewelry but really worshiped as a spiritual and mystical stone that could do just about anything from healing to advanced spirituality. The stone was used extensively by ancient jewelry designers and they created turquoise amulets, turquoise bracelets and even masks for the dead out of the gemstone
THE COLOR OF TURQUOISE
Turquoise is a beautiful bright blue (from iron) and a bright green (from copper). it is colorful and vibrant and if its genuine it stays that weigh. No matter if jewelry is old or ancient if it has been cared for the color of turquoise stays that beautiful vibrant blue. Often set in silver with orange or red accent stones. The stone is used and sold from the USA all the way to the mountains of Tibet.

Our Turquoise stones are normally cut in a cabochon form that is a french word for bald headed man. Meaning the stone is rounded on top and flat on the bottom. The Turquoise stones are much like the faces of people and no two are alike. They go from deep blue to light blue to streaks of black matrix running through it to create an intriguing color. TURQUOISE JEWELRY – HOW TO CARE FOR IT
Turquoise gems have a color that is bright blue and bright green and that combination is what makes turquoise unique. To keep that color you need to keep your turquoise out of direct sunlight you should also remember that this stone will soak up unwanted chemicals such as cosmetics and other facial chemicals you may use. So be safe and be aware of that.
