This is a hand carved Lava cameo from italy. It was carved in the early 1800s and has a very high profile of a beautiful young woman with long flowing hair and carved flowers flowing thru it. The cameo is a miniture work of art but large for a cameo brooch measuring 2 1/4 inches high and 2 inches wide and cab be used both as a pin or a pendant as there is a large hidden O ring for a thin pendant chain. The cameo is flawless and the gold ornate setting was hand made just for this cameo and is hand engraved all around. The cameo, the frame and the pin back is all in excellent condtion and this piece will be the talk of any party.
